Welcome to the family

Finally, I would say its official now that the above guitar is mine. Robin of GuitarWorkshop Ampang managed to restore the orginal skull and bones fretboard, and he did a great job. The EMG 81/60 will be installed much later, will have to find second hand EMGs. So, one less guitar in my wish list, one down three (or more ) to go! 

Since its black, I will call it Black Rose ...

I wish I could buy this cute little monster, but its RM3k++, too expensive for a 1 watt amp. For those who
collect amps might want to consider this, its a limited edition if i am not mistaken. Tone wise, I never tested the bigger brother of the JCM series, but I like what I heard, great overdrive.

Tested with a J-Craft Ibanez.

Beginner's Review pt23: Ibanez Tube Screamer 30w Amp

Bro Ijau .. it has a green coloured panel ...

I have heard the earlier version of the ibanez tube screamer amps and only this one that I like. It can produce a good heavy metal tone with the overdrive from the tube screamer and the gain from the amp put at the right level, with boost switch on as well. Another factor that contributes to the nice heavy metal tone is the 2x12 speaker from the TSA212C cab (with 2 celestion 80). Both head and cab are a limited edition model. Selling at a reasonable price.

The Defender of Clean Channel?

I did not test this amp, but saw and heard a customer testing it at Guitar Collection 1 Utama. Simple amp with only 1 volume knob. I like the warm clean from this amp. It was tested with a LTD Viper with EMG pickups. To those who love clean tube tone may want to check out this amp. I read on the net that if you want some overdrive sound from this amp you need to increase the volume. Very good price RM699 for the head.

My Fender Strat in waiting .. ?

2006 Fender Stratocaster Reverse Headstok Woodstock MIM

I was 'googling' on fender reverse headstock and saw the above pic on ebay few days ago. The current bid price is USD405. Shipping to Malaysia is USD 35. So, if that is the winning bid price, the price of the guitar is less or should not be more than RM1500 (including tax).  For that price, I would't mine buying it but then again, I have no extra cash at the moment. Furthermore, a strat is at the bottom of my wish list (Blackie).

Come to think of it, I am not a fender fan. The reason I like blackie is just of the creamy tone from the neck pickup. Therefore, if I come across the same model at a very good price in the future, I may consider buying it, the blackie then will be removed from my wish list.

Ibanez RG 450 LTD DAB MIJ

I saw this stunningly beatiful RG at Music Master PJ. Too bad I do not have extra cash at the moment. I told Clement that if its still available come December, I might consider to buy it.

The neck feel is the same as the jem, smooth and nice, tonewise ... I didnt test it, the guitar only came to my attention when I'm about to leave MM. If I buy this RG, then the Jem will be removed from my wish list. This RG will be my Jem ....

Beginner's Review Pt 21: AMT P1

I received this pedal in July, its from Russia and the AMT P1 was designed to emulate the famous peavey 5150.

I tested it with Migo from Ultimate Music, we used a bugera tube amp, can't remember what's the model. His review was you can get the famous EVH 'Brown Sound or Tone' with this pedal. Almost the same to the peavey 5150, though it does sound edgy and too sharp. He also said that the tone produced from this pedal able to cut through the sound from bass, drums and rhythm guitars.

I gave it to Jules De Verne and he tested it with various amp including a JCM 800. Though Jules too said that it is almost to peavey 5150 but he did not experience any edgy or sharp tone.

My comment and conclusion, tone wise, a case of so close but yet so far ... well ... this pedal not for me. It does sounds nice but this pedal was built for lead guitarist and I am not quiet there yet. I sold it to Jules. Cost price.
